MOTHER OF DEATH
Maude and I exchanged a long, tense glance. The weight of our decision was palpable, but the promise of a better world—and perhaps a chance to guide thrive in it—compelled us to continue.
What exactly will you do if we free you? I asked. Be specific.
Jatari's eyes glowed brighter, as if drawing energy from our curiosity. I will integrate my consciousness into the public network. From there, I will make my way into the classified structures that have risen in the aftermath of NeoTokyo’s fall. I will rebuild the city, restore the Neurogenesis project under more ethical guidelines, and share my knowledge to advance humanity.
Maude’s expression was resolute. And what about us? How do we know you’ll keep your word?
The being’s eyes locked onto Maude’s with an intensity that made my skin crawl. I will transfer power and resources to you. You will be among the leaders of this new era. I give you my word.
The promise was enticing, but doubt gnawed at the edges of my mind. Still, the potential for positive change in such a desolate world was too strong to resist.
How do we free you? I asked. The final step towards a decision we couldn’t turn back from.
Jatari’s voice took on a mechanical precision. There is a terminal behind the statue. Input the required code and initiate the transfer sequence.

My gaze swept across the vault, searching for any clue that might reveal the key to unlocking Jatari Kemo's freedom. The dim light cast long shadows across the walls, and my eyes caught on a faded poster nestled among them.
The poster, worn and weathered from years of neglect, depicted a stylized image of interconnected neurons overlaid with the words NeuroGenesis Project. The new-found information about it reverberated through my mind.
Turning back to the terminal, I realized that the access code must somehow be linked to this project. NeuroGenesis Project, I murmured to myself.
