GHOST FOREST
The ground beneath our feet was uneven, overgrown with tangled roots and patches of wild grass. The trees, twisted and gnarled, seemed to reach out like skeletal fingers, creating an almost claustrophobic feeling.
Suddenly, a tingling, electric feeling seemed to pulse through the air. At first I shook it off, but then I felt another wave, stronger this time. My vision blurred, and the familiar surroundings of the park began to distort.
I saw flickers of movement in the shadows, screams echoed through the park, mingling with the rustling leaves and creating a haunting, surreal soundtrack. I tried to focus, to dismiss the tricks of the mind, but the hallucinations only grew more intense.
With the next wave, the hallucinations became even more vivid. Mechanical creatures appeared from the darkness, their forms shifting and flickering like faulty holograms. They had glowing eyes and jagged limbs, their movements jerky and unnatural. They lunged at us from between the trees, their snarls and growls distorted by the waves of energy. Each time I tried to react, they vanished before I could reach them, leaving me disoriented and on edge.
Maude stumbled beside me, her face pale and her eyes darting around as if searching for something real in the shifting chaos. I could see her struggling against the effects, her expression one of mounting fear. Another wave surged through the park, and the hallucinations became almost unbearable. The ground beneath us seemed to crack open, revealing a roiling abyss. Shadows of monstrous figures reached up from the void, their clawed hands grasping at us with a malevolent intensity.
In a moment of disorientation, Maude vanished from view. My heart raced as I scanned the area frantically. My mind was stuck in a sense of danger, fearing that something happened to her. Suddenly I saw her unconscious, being dragged behind the trees in the distance. I tried to run toward her, but just as got closer, I felt a powerful yank on my arm. The force pulled me backward, sending me crashing onto the ground.
