GHOST FOREST
Dazed and confused, I looked around to see myself out of the park's boundaries. A look to my side revealed Maude staring at me with an expression of urgency.
Snap out of it! Maude yelled, with her arm on my shoulder. I could barely make out her face as I fought against the disorienting effects. With a final effort, I dragged myself back onto my feet, the world around me still shifting and warping.
As we caught our breath and collected ourselves, I glanced back at the park. It looked calm and ordinary from here, innocent. I couldn't help but to think if this was an introduction to the city as a whole.
That was intense, I said, trying to shake off the lingering effects of the hallucinations.
Yeah, Maude replied, her voice still strained. But we got through it. Looks like it's a clear path from here. We exchanged a tired look before pushing forward, traversing the empty streets.
We walked for what seemed like an eternity, before I noticed Maude slowing her step, lifting her gaze upwards. Eyes up. We're here, she said gesturing at an abandoned building with a faint glow coming from one of the floors.
